Walk to Easter: A Holy Week Experience for Children, will be hosted at St. Mary of the Assumption on April 19th, Good Friday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at 12:15 p.m. The event begins in the St. Mary’s room. Enter St. Mary’s via the Chapel side door and follow the directional signs to the St. Mary’s room.
Children in preschool through fourth grade are invited to take a “walk” with Jesus. The walk moves the children from “station to station” (classroom to classroom) to experience prayer, a parable re-enactment, a music activity, and concluding with a prayerful Stations of the Cross in pictures. Parents and grandparents must accompany their child/children, as they “walk.”
There is no admission fee for this event, but we encourage registration so that enough craft supplies, pretzels, and plastic eggs are ready for each group of children. Additional volunteers are needed to assist with the “station” activities, so if you, or your tween/teen would like to help, please complete the volunteer portion of the Walk to Easter Registration form.
The “station” leaders will teach/lead the 14 minute “station” experience six times to accommodate six groups. The leaders will agree to be there at 9:30 for set-up…… with a 12:30 dismissal. This is perfect opportunity for 2-3 friends to work together, have fun, and perform a good deed! To Volunteer, please review our Volunteer Form.
