The Adult Faith Formation Committee, (AFF), chaired by Joan Fortugno, was established four years ago and endeavors to offer programs to enhance parishioners’ knowledge and love of God.
Since its inception it has offered “Faith Through the Stained Glass Windows”, which featured the Church’s newly-installed windows flanking the walls of the nave, “Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible”, by Jeff Cavins and directed by Deacon Dennis Wuebbels, “The Wild Goose is Loose” by Father Dave Pivonka about the Holy Spirit, “A Biblical Walk through the Mass” by Dr. Edward Sri and including the very well received “Church Tour” presented by Deacon John Giacci, “The Mysteries of the Rosary” presented by Lynne Keating, and “A Biblical Walk through Christ’s Passion” also by Dr. Edward Sri. During the pandemic the Committee sponsored two, virtual programs on FORMED: “Presence” and the recently concluded “Forgiven”. Programs are open to all. A special sub-committee, chaired by Mary Tigani, was established to offer retreats for women, in response to the Men’s Cornerstone retreat. It has offered “Freedom to Live and Love in a Wounded World” presented by Sr. Sheila Galligan, IHM, “Working on God’s Time” presented by Michelle Francl-Donnay, and “Women of Scripture – Exploring Their Gifts and Finding Your Own” by Sr. Marie Michele Donnelly, RSM.
The AFF team considers the fellowship, discussions and faith-sharing of attendees invaluable and looks forward to resuming in person programs and retreats. Already back by popular demand, the 2022 Women’s Retreat will be “The Wow and Woe of the Psalms”, presented by Sr. Sheila!
